Ceramic Jars

Product Description -  These cute jars are made with the Horse Hair ceramic technique originated with potters of the Yellowcorn Clan of the Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico.  In the "horse hair" process, once the piece reaches a certain temperature inside the kiln, the pot is pulled out very quickly. At that very instant horse hair strands are gently applied, burning on contact with the hot clay surface.  it is said that the spirit of energy of the horse now resides within the pottery.  The black & white results are always exciting & dramatic, with no two pieces ever coming out exactly the same.  Not for food use and will not hold water indefinitely.
