Jewelry - Wrapped Necklace Rectangle

Product Description:  This series of jewelry is created by starting with a flat hand-cut shape of silver, then textured with fire & reshaped.  Strips of pure gold are cut & set onto the silver.  To obtain the darker tones in many of the pieces, a sulphury liquid-solution acts as a “black ink” which the artists uses to finish her “painting’.”  The additional wrap of smooth and shiny silver wire frames each piece and creates an interesting contrast and tridimensionality.  All of these techniques are intended to evoke the artist’s ancient culture of her native town Rome, & to create jewelry that evoke the feeling of wearing an ancient piece of history.
